My clean installation of Windows has become corrupted but I can't get DISM to work (after six days of back-and-forth with Microsoft Community support).

Here's my Windows version info:

Edition: Windows 10 Pro
Version: 1511
OS Build: 10586.318
Product ID: 00330-80000-00000-AA316

But DISM always says "Image Version: 10.0.10586.0" and fails, purportedly because the version numbers don't match - the only useful information I've gotten from Microsoft so far. Here's a screen capture:

And, just to verify that the file exists (and I'm not a complete nutter), here's a screen cap of File Explorer:

What I don't understand is what needs to be done to make these versions sync up and get DISM to run. I downloaded a new ISO today from Tech Bench but it appears to also be version 1511. Either way, it didn't work either. If you ask me, DISM is the one that appears to be beyond its freshness date, but I don't know where to begin with that.

Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

have you done it off blue ray before? it might just be a simple matter of having it on d drive and mounting it from there.

Otherwise I can't guess what DISM's problem is.

the only difference i can see between what you typed and what Microsoft suggest you use is 1 word

DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth /source:WIM:X:\Sources\Install.wim:1 /LimitAccess Where "X" is the drive letter where the ISO is located. Simply change the "X" to the correct drive letter

Well, I can hardly believe it, but I plugged this in, thinking "whatever - here we go again" and got this:
