So I just ordered a RTX 2060 6gb ROG STRIX video card and looking for suggestions on a decent monitor to accompany it.

Currently I use a 24” 1080p 75hz freesync monitor

Ryzen 5 2600
MSI b450 tomahawk
16gb ddr4 3000mhz

Just need good suggestions whether to just keep it or move to higher refresh or go up to 1440p or what. I wouldn’t mind a larger monitor i think 32 is too big for me but idk. Any ideas without breaking the bank is much appreciated

The Dell2716DG is pretty great! If you are feeling adventurous, you can save money by getting the FreeSync version (Dell2716DGF) which looks to be compatible with GSYNC using the latest drivers.

Nothing really wrong with what you have. Quite expensive to move up to QHD, about the same for 144hz 1080p, and the most common size there is 24" again.

RTX 2060 is certainly capable of 1440p 60hz today, in a year or two there will probably be some games that it won't be able to do all that well at 1440p. If you had a 60hz non-free sync panel it might be worth it, but I think you'll find the experience good enough. You can also try out DSR and render at a higher resolution and turn off AA.

Nothing wrong with overbuying on a monitor though. If you want a larger screen with a higher resolution its not like it won't work. And if you have anything less demanding you like to play you could certainly take advantage.

Best part is you don't have to decide now. GPU is on the way, give it a few weeks while you mess with game settings.

DSR will let you test out how hard hitting running at a higher resolution will be.

That’s what I have currently. Not a bad monitor. Are there any features it’s missing? I’m not sure much about pc monitors I came from console gaming like HDR etc etc.

It only has HDMI and not Display Port, so you can't use Adaptive Sync with your RTX2060. So effectively it is a 75hz IPS panel.

Doesn't look like it has a VESA mount either so you can't replace the stand with something more flexible.

Other than that it is a good IPS monitor.

27" 1080p isn't the best experience for reading. But for multimedia, gaming and videos, it isn't too bad. I put up with one for years. Though a more natural resolution for 27-32" is 1440p, beyond that it is 4K.

So if you wanted to replace it here are a few options:

The Dell listed above is a decent choice. 144hz 1080p 27" and Freesync + Display Port and quite inexpensive, but it is a TN panel. (as are many of the following)

No Sync, 1080p 27" 144hz TN Panel. This is akin to the old gaming monitors before variable refresh.

FreeSync with DP
24" Curved, but 144hz 1080p:

I suppose it depends on your plans. I purchased a VA 1440p 144hz G-sync display at launch intending to keep the monitor for the next several GPUs. 4K gaming is still too pricey, and the 4K 120hz monitors are astrononomical. And I really can't justify the $2400 expense of a 3440x1440 panel and a shiny new GPU to go with it (RTX 2080Ti).

But if you want to get up into that territory, you've underbought a little on the GPU.
