So I've been trying to play BF4 for the past few days now and every time I join a server after a few minutes my game freezes. I looked in the event log and it says that amdkmdap stopped responding. I looked back a bit further and that seems to be what is crashing BF4. I have the latest drivers unless there was a new version released in the past few days. I don't get low fps either. When I am playing I am usually hovering around 100 fps. Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Solution
99 times out of 100 when your video driver crashes then recovers, it is because your overclock (either custom or factory) isn't 100% stable. You need to either increase the voltage or decrease the core clock.

The game completely freezes and after about 7 seconds the screen goes black and eventually returns to action, taking about 15 seconds from initial freeze to playing again. While frozen, my toon continues moving in the direction I was last going when it freezes, often times leading to his/her demise... Both my keyboard and mouse and wired.

Screen blackouts could be a number of things but it's most likely a video problem. Have you tried doing a complete uninstall of your AMD drivers? Then a fresh install (not express) install of the latest drivers? I did an update without removing the old driver once and ran into some weird problems. Fan monitoring didn't work so overheating was eminent. Clocks kept resetting to default.
-Other programs related to video like game optimizers or enhancers could be causing problems. Raptr or Game Booster (some come with AMD Catalyst). Try uninstalling them. A friend of mine had two of them on his computer. Slowed his gameplay down.
-Logitech keyboards also has key commands sometimes overtake or interfere with game commands in Steam. Sometimes ends up not working. Gaming mice and Game Boosters sometimes try to run at the same time. You don't want two programs doing the same thing. Find the one you like best and dump the rest or simply turn them off in the program.
-Updating the (1) chipset and (2)bios in that order.
Get the last updates for Windows 7 (I think they stop updating the operating system aside from the security updates.)
-Sometimes Windows 7 gets jacked up from crashing, not being properly turned off, sudden shut downs, spikes or brown out, etc.. Run a Windows repair using 'Scan Now' in Windows tools in C: drive. Right click C: drive> scroll down to 'Properties'> 'Tool' tab> Error Checking> 'Scan Now' then restart your computer. It will start a DOS program on start. Let it run. In Windows 7 it takes an hour or two to run.
-Run a free copy of Ccleaner from Piriform.
https://www.piriform.com/ccleaner
It removes all the junk and run Registry fixer.
-Run the Windows antispyware or use a retail antispyware program. Spyware likes to bog the internet browers.
-HD 6800 series is an older card, maybe needs a bit of overclock to the gpu and memory speeds. You might try running games at mid settings. Make sure your Windows monitor settings are set to game and monitor settings.
That's all I can think of. Hope this helps.
