Display driver has stopped responding and has recovered.

Hey guys, when playing GTA V, It crashes pretty often.
Specs:
Gtx 980 G1 Gigabyte
i5 4670
8GB RAM
Occasionally, I get a message saying: Display driver has stopped responding and has recovered.
My PSU is an 850W Toughpower Gold
GTA V is the only game I am experiencing this crash on. Any help would be great, thanks.

Did you test with another graphic card to check if there is a problem with your cable or with the Gtx 980 in other computer? or reinstalling the drivers, i know its a bit ridiculous but sometimes the "reset" or "reinstal" works...

It cant be my gpu, because I can play dying light and bf4 for hours without any problems. on max settings. Is it possible that the game is making it crash?

Of course its possible, just try to reinstall the drivers or changing the cable dvi, hdmi or whatever you use and test

I have already uninstalled and reinstalled my gpu drivers...

There was a recent driver update to better support GTA5. Make sure you have the latest one.

Also, nVidia's voltage regulation between boost states is very agressive and sometimes too low. Watch to see if your card is switching between low, mid and high boost a lot in games when the crash occurrs.
