I have suddenly experienced that my screen goes black when playing Fortnite or World of Warcraft. Sound is still running in the background, however once the screen has gone black, it wont come back before I restart the PC. This doesn't happen all the time, and seems unpredictable.

After the screen goes black the computer makes a sound as if a USB is being disconnected, however no USB devices seems to power off. I can still talk to someone on Discord after it has happened.

No changed were made to the computer before it happened first. After the first instance I updated my GPU driver but the problem remained

These are my specs:
Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-6500 CPU @ 3.20GHz
8 GB RAM
GeForce GTX 960 2GB RAM

Sounds like you might have a dying GPU then. Do some GPU stress testing using Cinbench or AIDA64 or any other benching software and see if it the screen goes black during the tests. If it does then it's very likely that you have a failing GPU.

I just ran the test GPGPU using AIDA64 and CINEBENCH with no problems. But could that be related to that is doesn't happen every time when playing other games either?
