[I am running a dual monitor setup, all problems mentioned pertain to the specified monitor only]
I have an old Samsung SyncMaster 205BW (I think that is the specific name) and I have an odd problem. I turned my computer on, walked away for a bit, came back to turn the monitors on and my screen is tinted completely red. The first time this problem occurred, I opened the menu to be surprised by the fact that the language settings had also been changed to German. I'm unsure how I fixed it the first time, but this second time I cannot open the menu at all. If I press any button on my monitor, except for the power button, either the menu will not appear or it will appear but become a still box image with no letters; and the power button no longer functions so using the power switch or unplugging is the only way to shut the monitor off (even turning the computer off doesn't send it into hibernate mode.) If I do not press any of the buttons, I can use the power button freely, but we still have the problem of the red tint.
The monitor is using a DVI-D (Single Link) cable. I switched out the cables to another DVI-D (Single Link), but the problem still persists. This leaves me to the single conclusion that my monitor has decided to finally die...or at least in this case "bleed" out. Let me know what you guys can come up with. Thank you in advance.
