I completed my new build last night. http://imgur.com/gallery/Vnbvm/new

CPU: Intel Core i5-4690K 3.5 GHz-Quad-Core
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z97X-SLI ATX LGA1150
Memory: Corsair Vengeance 16 GB (2x8GB) DDR3-1600
Storage: Crucial MX100 256 GB 2.5" SSD WD & Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200 RPM Internal HD
Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 750 Ti 2GB Superclocked Video Card
Case: Corsair 200R ATX Mid Tower Case
PSU: SeaSonic G 550W 80+ Gold Semi-Modular ATX

Upon powering on for the first time, I received no display. I tried every RAM slot with each RAM card (individually), I reconnected everything. The fans run, the MOBO lights up, optical drive opens.

When I take out the graphics card and turn on, I get a message, "Reboot and select proper boot device, or insert boot media".

Currently, my display (VGA) is running through the mobo, and not the video card (I don't yet have an HDMI to connect it). Could my problem simply be that I'm not running an HDMI through the graphics card? Or is there a larger fundamental problem that I have yet to address? For clarity, what is the screen that I should expect to see when I turn on my PC for the first time correctly?

Thank you for the help. If I should provide any other information, please do not hesitate to ask!

You should see a BIOS screen thing flash up that will say hit delete or some key to enter. you should go into the BIOS and see if the motherboard is set to use integrated graphics instead on the card, also it may be that it want you to either run with the graphics card out and on integrated graphics, or with the card in and from the card, not from the motherboard.
