Question Display Port, Active or Passive

Just bought a refurbished desktop. It has 2 displayports. I need to convert to HDMI. Ive read a locked post that says all video cards now a days come with D++
I have integrated graphics. Im not sure what adapter to buy. Will an active adapter work on a passive DP

When posting a thread of troubleshooting nature, it's customary to include your full system's specs. Please list the specs to your build like so:

include the age of the PSU apart from it's make and model. BIOS version for your motherboard at this moment of time.

DP and HDMI are both a digital format so nothing special is needed. i bought one of these and it works great.

still using it after 3 years i think it is.

does seem odd though that your mobo would only have DP outputs. you say you are using integrated graphics so that would be the mobo outputs are the only available to you.

I dont have the specs yet so cant list everything you asked.
If I purchase an active DP to HDMI will that work on both Passive and Active

any DP to HDMI would work. so yes an "active" one would work no problem. if it's built in, then it'll be active. it's not either/or as far as i know.
