Hi All, I recently got a new laptop which has DP as opposed to DVI-D.

My last laptop had DVI-D out and worked perfectly with my Belkin SOHO 2 Port DVI KVM.

I am trying to share a samsung SyncMaster2233 between my home PC and Laptop which is a HP Elitte Book 840G

Since installing a DP - DVI-D adapter between the laptop and KVM cable the Laptop does not see the samsung dsiplay at all.

The DP adapter is DVI-D for sure as is the KVM and the samsung display.

any ideas welcome please.

Thank you

Ron

I am using the cables that come with the belkin soho 2 port digital KVM switch.

The display itself connects to the kvm via a dvi cable and then the laptop and other computer is connected from ports 1 and 2 using the proprietary kvm cables that come with the switch.

I spoke to belkin who advised that it should work.

So the laptop out to the display port adapter goes to the belkin DVI-D cable that goes to the KVM port which then connects to the Samsung main monitor via the kvm console port on a dvi cable

Kind regards and thanks

Ron

Thanks Herc, which cable would need updating ? The belkin or the dvi to the monitor ?

Belkin have sent an RMA as they think the switch may be faulty but it worked perfectly on the old laptop so I can see that being the case.

Thanks in advance
