hey all, ive had this issue for a while now and i've seen almost every thread on reddit or youtube video under the sun about this issue, so i thought id give this a crack! ive had this pc for a coupla years now and about a few months ago i started experiencing random monitor turn offs with audio still running and pc still running i have to force shutdown the computer to get it back up n working for it only to shaft me 30-50 mins later...... sometimes ive gone weeks without the issue but now its back and almost impossible to game... this is what ive done so far...

  • fresh install of the drivers with ddu,
  • installed fortected and ran it,
  • reset my bios settings to default but tweaked to popular changes and tested,
  • reg edit tdgar set to 10 and 60,
  • dusted and cleaned out sockets to fans,
  • checked monitor for errors and cables for visible signs of damage(none)
  • used different dp cords,
  • cleaned pc for malware ....
  • temps are fine, new amd drivers and removed previous drivers...

these are my specs.:

AMD RYZEN 7 5800X
32GB DDR4 RAM
AMD ASUS 6700XT
500 GB CRUCIAL SSD
GIBABYTE B550 X V2
2TB HARDRIVE
850W COOLERMASTER MVE V2 Gold PSU

would be greatly appreciated for any responses or queries on my issue cheers!!

update the BIOS of your motherboard

to have a look what the problem could be:
run userbenchmark.com and post the http link of your result, e.g. https://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/28977730

Reset the BIOS by jumper clrCMOS or JBAT or similar (eventually you will have to set the boot priority correctly after that)

check windows integrity
open the command prompt as administrator and type DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

clean boot

check the hard drive for errors with its manufacturer´s tool and if available, update the firmware

  4. will also get back to you with that

ssd didnt need an update neither did the hdd- ive done a bios update as well and reset cmos doing a jumper now going to try a clean boot! thanks sm for the help so far.
so i ended up doing a clean boot is there anthing i should be looking out for ?

eventually when the audio is still on and video blacks out, try restarting the gpu driver by hotkey
Windows + Ctrl + Shift + B

if this doesn´t work so far, could be anything.
try the GPU in a different PC
try a different PSU in your PC

have a look at the event log of windows, any warnings or errors while the video blacked out?
