Display sleeps and wont turn back on!

When ever i leave my pc alone for a while (its set to 30 mins) the display will go in to sleep but then sometimes and only sometimes it wont come back on. Also in the power settings i have set all others to never (so the pc doesn't hibernate or sleep). Please help because this is very annoying.

I had a Yamakazi monitor that acted like that.
I never did figure out why.
I think the device did not adhere fully to the sleep specs when connected to a modern graphics card.
I had to manually turn it on and off. Since it was a secondary display , the windows screen resolution app could detect it and bring it back without a reboot.

That is exactly my issue. it takes a reboot in order for the monitor to turn back on. And i think it has only started since i upgrade from gtx 660 to a gtx 970

turn the sleep option to off in power options in control panel.

Does anyone know a way to fix this and not just have to turn off the monitor manually
