Displaying wrong resolution

I have just installed windows 10, I have the latest Geforce Drivers, My windows is running in 1600x900 and Geforce Experience tells me its 1600x900 display. But for some reason my TV which I use as a monitor is running itself in 1920x1080 I can't find anywhere to change it.

If I go fullscreen in a game, the TV/Monitor goes black and says in the top right 1600x900. But when I close the game it goes black again and says 1920x1080.

Does anyone have a solution to this issue? Id greatly appreciate it as its messed up at the minute.

edit: it never did this before on windows 7 or 8.1, its only just doing it now.

maybe 1 of the bugs of win10 not fixed as it might not been known at the time of development.

But that would mean they only allow support for 1920x1080 resolutions if thats all its displaying wouldn't it? I don't think Microsoft would do that.

& why did they come out with win8\8.1 when win7 is so good? check the ms site to see if they might have a resolution for your problem being win10 just came out today.

Okay I will have a look, Ive partially solved the problem by changing me TV settings from 16:9 to screenfit, now everything is showing but it still looks a little off.

are you using win10 video driver as maybe could use win7 or 8 driver as they worked alright before?

Yes im using windows 10 driver on Nvidia Geforce experience, But I fixed it by downloading a program called "PowerStrip" And forcing it to run in 1600x900.
