So yesterday evening I acidentally tripped over my displayport cable while trying to fix a fan in my PC (it was still connected PC to monitor), I thought I broke the cable because my monitor instantly gave me the ''no signal'' and ''no cable connected'' errors. The cable had one of the connectors a little bent so I tried straightening it out with some pliers, and it worked. But when I checked screen properties it said it was 1080p 60hz, while it should be 1080p 144hz. This also explains why some games give me a black screen on startup now.
So my question is, could a displayport cable be damaged in such a way it could only do 60hz, or did I mess up one of the ports or is it just a setting?
