Displayport to HDMI help

Hello all

I recently got an Elitebook 8470p and was just looking to hook it up to the TV at work to watch movies. I got an active Displayport to HDMI cord, since it doesnt have an HDMI slot, and assumed thats all I would need to hook it up to the TV at work (since i cant stream there) What am I doing wrong? Will this work? I have windows 10 on it.

Are you asking it it will work or did you try it and it's not working? Yes all you would need is a DP to HDMI connector. Did you set the TV to the right input and turn on the external screen in Widows? Does the TV have a VGA port? You can try that also.
