LB23 :
Some people buy used monitors from ebay or whatnot or refurbs that don't always have all the parts.
Edit to add the cable that came with my monitor was defective and I had to order a replacement. 23 years of PC building yet you cant think of a reason someone would need to order a cable......
I can certainly think of a reason to buy a cable. But that's not the question ... the question here was "which one to buy ?" And the answer still is ...
the same one that came in the box.
Yes, 23 years of PC building and ....
I never built for or knew anyone who would trust ebay for a monitor purchase
I never built for or knew anyone who received a defective item and didn't get it replaced by the seller
Assuming say you lost it in a move ... then still same exact advice, you replace the lost item with the exact same type of cable that came in the box... same as you would do with anything else.
Many times it will come with all of the cables it needs however, sometimes they are not long enough. Therein comes the choice of which one do you buy? Also I have gotten a monitor that had both DVI and HDMI and only included the DVI cable, and it wasn't a cheap monitor.
Again, same answer ... you buy the exact same one that came in the box.
All of the cables ? I never had a monitor arrive without a power cable and the required signal cable. How many more do you need ?
How many 144 Hz monitors have you used with an HDMI cable ? I have never been involved with a build that used an HDMI cable.
If it comes with a 3' cable and you want a 6', then again, you get the same type of cable that came in the box.
