Displays randomly shut off but PC is responsive

Hi there, hope Im posting this in the right place...

Recently had a few issues with displays on my PC, initially jumped to thinking it was my GPU (the fans on my 780 would go crazy fast and Id get no signal on my monitors) but after now swapping out to a friends GPU which I know works, Im still having issues.

Basically my dual monitor setup just did the usual no signal thing, but instead came back to life with one screen being white and the other green.

Just looking for any sort of help to figure out a fix before I go out and buy more of the wrong PC parts to fix this issue.

So you grabbed your friend's video card and popped it in your rig? If you're still having problems, I'd start to wonder about your power supply. I'd post your PSU model and wattage, as well as the rest of your config.
