Displays switch on restart

Every time i restart my computer my main monitor switches to the secondary monitor and have to revert it everytime I start my pc. Please help

how are both monitors connected as in vga, dvi, hdmi or displayport?

my main monitor is using dvi, and my second monitor is using hdmi with a dvi adapter on the monitor

when in display properties in control panel, does it show you main monitor as number 1?
