Dissapointing ATI 9800 benchmarks

I have an ATI Radeon 9800 (Sapphire) and just ran both 3D mark 01 and 03. I'm hoping someone can help me pin down what is causing my terrible performance.

System:
AMD Athlon XP 2600+ (333MHz)
MSI K7N2 mobo (nForce2 chipset)
512 MB PC2700 DDR RAM
ATI Radeon 9800 (unPro) 128MB
Windows XP Pro

3DMark 01: 10960
3DMark 03: 2880

Both 3DMark programs have the latest patches and I have the Catalyst 3.8 drivers. Also all my startup programs have been deactivated so there's not anything running in the background besides the ATI control panel.

I'm wondering if there are any AGP BIOS settings I need to be changing for the new card. I just came from a GeForce3 64MB. I don't know if this makes a difference but I don't see any startup text before the POST like I have with all my other video cards. Any suggestions anyone has I would appreciate it, thank you.

Ahh but did you turn all the quality settings to off or lowest?

THe dumb thing about 3dmark is that you have to turn off all the things that make the card worth while in order to get a "decent" result!

Your score in 3dmark03 reminds me of the 9500 non pro with the broken pipelines. Is it an SE version? If it is theres your problem. The SE has broken pipelines.

9800SE is just the 9800 core that failed ATi's 8 pipelines test. They figure instead throwing them out, they could make a "few" dollars by rebrand them as SE. Those card have 4 pipes by default and other 4 are not guarantee to work.
