DIY micro ATX build - what am I missing?

Hi all,
I haven't built my own system in a few years. I'm hoping you can see the permalink from pcpartspicker, http://pcpartpicker.com/p/tPJpLk to view all the components I picked out. I am looking for a 'budget' build with decent performance for a few years to come with future upgrades a possibility. Not planning to overclock at this stage. Did I go too low on the CPU? Too high on the mobo? Anything critical I've missed? I'll be using an existing bluetooth keyboard and mouse, monitor and speakers.
Basically the main components are: mATX case, Asus H97M-plus mobo, GeForce GTX 980 GPU, Intel i5-4460 CPU, an M.2 SSD and the rest of the components to fill out the build.

Will the video card fit in that case? (I think so) Will I need to add more fans?

I realize the answer is "it depends" - I'm not playing the latest games, nor do I run at 4K, but I'd like the build to last a few years before I need to upgrade.

I chose Micro ATX to be a little portable. Not laptop portable, but I'm thinking this is a pretty damn good system for under $1000. I can get more storage later, or add a video card later, or increase the PSU later... but for starters this sounds pretty good.

Thoughts, comments? What would you add that I didn't, or would you remove that I have? Does anyone see an obvious bottleneck?
Thanks!

Thanks for the feedback. I haven't looked into CPU coolers yet, wasn't sure if I would need one with that i5. I figured I could watch temps on it and decide later about adding a cooler. The OEM fins and fan wouldn't be good enough? Because of the smaller case? I figured extra CPU cooling would only be needed for OC, which I wasn't planning on getting into with this build.
(edit -) was also not sure about the 960 vs 980 on the cards. Dimensionally it looks like the 980 would fit. Heat load issues?

According to Nvidia GTX 980 Graphics Card Dimensions:
4.376 inchesHeight
10.5 inchesLength
Dual-widthWidth
and the case:
15.71" x 7.28" x 14.33"
I was figuring there was enough room. No?
edit 2 - just looked at the price on the 980, ummm yeah. The 960 will do just fine for a while!

I have an additional question - on Windows 8.1, can I buy an "OEM" license? It's very confusing, there are about 18 different versions of Windows 8.1 I can choose from on their site. Some of them are "OEM", some are not. What makes for an OEM purchase on a DIY machine? The motherboard? Processor? Retailer? None of the above? (don't buy an OEM version?)
Thanks!

I went and updated my parts list. I can save a few on the power supply, and based on everything I've read I shouldn't need a CPU cooler besides stock since I'm not going OC. I also changed to 4x4GB RAM for full dual channel performance (supposedly? Using all RAM slots better than half the RAM slots? Same price.) I don't think I'll need heatsink'd RAM. Besides the video card this system shouldn't get that hot.

The only thing I might do custom is to get a VESA mount and bolt it to the side of the case to make it a single unit. I have a monitor with speakers on it already.

Does anyone have a suggestion for how to buy Windows properly? It's really the only confusing part of this whole build. The rest of it is looking pretty solid. How do you buy a 'retail copy' of Windows 8.1 or 10?
Here's my latest parts list. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/GLHnhM Non-OC motherboard and backed down to the GTX960 video card. Well under $1000 and if I can figure out the Windows part it could be under $900.
Thanks!
