DIY rugged laptop/tablet? Help

Hello everyone,

So i saw the trailer of new game called WW3, and i saw device in soldiers hands which look very cool and kinda different(link of the pic)
So i was thinking if i could make the same looking thing? Do i have to be careful of something? I planned to buy second hand laptop with touch screen, soo i have no idea if the screens are fragile and if i can protect it with an layer or something... Every adivce is appreciated a lot, because i dont want to buy 2-3 laptops just to do it

You do know that in a video game...they can make "physical objects" do anything.

You can't really do a DIY laptop, rugged or otherwise.

Uh i meant i want to make a tablet from laptop ahaha, i would remove the keyboard and everything else just try to put inside of a box, uh more like mac, but with touchscreen

So get an iPad or 10" Asus Transformer, mount it in a box.
Done.
