Hi everybody,

Building a computer for around 500$ and was wondering what you think of the setup I am getting.

Seagate Barracuda Green ST1500DL003 1.5TB 5900
G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3
AMD Phenom II X6 1055T Thuban 2.8GHz Socket
HIS H467QR1GH Radeon HD 4670 1GB 128-bit DDR3
MSI 880GM-E43 AM3 AMD 880G HDMI Micro ATX AMD
BYTECC 18" Serial ATA-150/300 Cable
LITE-ON DVD Burner - Bulk Black SATA Model
Rosewill R519-BK Black Computer Case 500W Power

For 500 bucks could I have done any better? I went with the Radeon HD 4670 because of the price and the positive feedback on Newegg.

Cheers.

I see, would it possible to stretch the budget to 600USD perhaps?

At 600USD you could likely have a nice i5 2500(k) set-up and I would be happy to make some suggestions if thats the case.

Becuase the build you suggested likely would not be fit for a game like D3 unfortunately.

Vid card made it to medium according to the D3 beta:

Oh and I plan to overclock to 3.5ghz

work or no?

Hexa-cores are not very well supported by most games, unless you plan to do some very heavy multi-tasking the 1055T would likely prove to be a bit of a waste.

I suggest the following CPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103727

Also, unfortunately that micro-atx likely would not support such healthy OC.

So, I suggest the following motherboard if you still insist upon OC: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131646

Its a bit more expensive than the micro-atx, but its a far more competant choice.

As for the GPU, I suggest shopping around a bit. Perhaps try and find a good deal on a 5770, you will be glad you did when you finally sit down to play D3.

Instead of the Corsair unit, I personally would suggest the following: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817151094

Yeah, but I think he want's $500 before rebates. It won't fit :( the 430 watts would be enough for the build.
