DLL files missing

i got a new laptop hp pavillion touchsmart windows 8 everytime i try to launch a game it gaves me that missing a dll file like xinput1_3.dll ... plz what to do

That means you're lacking a certain library, as someone already stated, but games usually come with an installer for them...

I agree with rgd here. How did you install the game? Where did you obtain it from? Which game is it?

More likely it is needing DirectX 9c support files.

Microsoft should really have got this sorted with Windows 8, but just being lazy !

Win8 or not, games come packed with a DirectX redistributable, unless they're VERY old games or copy-pastes of entire installation folders. Even latest ones still include Dx9c libs.

In this case, the OP either skipped their installation, copy-pasted his installation folder to avoid re-installing/re-downloading the game or got a "free of charge" copy...

xinput1_3.dll is a legacy DirectX library that is needed for many older games. It is not shipped with recent versions of Windows. The Microsoft DirectX Web Installer should take care of it
