I am in college and I went home for spring break so I shut down my computer and my wireless router. Coming back from break I turn on both systems and now I can't get Internet! My computer is connected via eithernet cable and doesn't work and the WIFI doesn't work either. I've tried multiple things and nothing is working.

Solution
Is router setup to auto-dhcp for wan connecion?

Can you plug a single device into your room's ethernet port and it work?

Have you tried reseting your router to default settings?

There is possibility that while you were gone IT invoked new policy that would prevent the use of wifi routers.

I have a Netgear 750N router AKA(WNDR 4300V2). My internet connection is through the university internet in which a modem is not required. I have power cycled my computer and modem multiple times as well as changed the DNS server to Google DNS sever 8.8.8.8 as primary and 8.8.4.4 as secondary. I have also reset the network connections for my computer

The router is setup for auto-dhcp connection and when i plug a device in directly it tells me i have an unidentified connection. I have not reset my router but i dont think it a router issue after all the troubleshooting.

I sent an email to IT to see what they can do. When you plug a new device into the network it will ask you to register the device which is what happened with my laptop. after i registered my laptop it is supposed to bring you to an online survey but it didn't this time. Im thinking its a issue with the internet provided by the university.

thank you for your help
