So my computer uses wireless network card and everytime i start it up the DNS will reset to 127.0.0.1 , from this i will change it to Auto select DNS or 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4, it will have this for about 2mins or so then go back to 127.0.0.1.

Any suggestions?

i have seen lots of forum posts on this website and others and none seem to help which is unfortunate, but i will do anything suggested

many thanks,

Solution
well i dont know if it is permenant (hope so) but the problem is gone! i went through Program files and deleted anything that didnt have 'windows' in it or anything id never heard of

an update from windows seems to have helped
ran 3 Malwarebytes fulll pc scans, found nothing by the 3rd one
so thanks so so so so much for all the suggestions

if anything changes i will post but it has worked for now!
Malwrare or defective card/driver is the most likely culprit.

Try setting your Ethernet lan adapter DNS to googles DNS and plug it in via Ethernet. If the Ethernet adapter changes its DNS address you have malware, if it only happens with the wifi card/adapter it is the card or driver.

i just tried uninstalling and re-installing, it doesnt seem to have worked unfortunately

here is the name of my wireless card TL-WN781ND

Sounds like you have a application (maybe AVG's Firewall?) is rerouting to your PC and providing a solution of somesort. If you have any sort of Web protection software, firewall software, etc. it will do this to 'filter' the content for malicious or say adult content.

What happens when you try webpages, what happens when you try the same webpage in a different webbrowser, do they look the same (i.e. try with IE, Opera and Chrome and see what you get in each).

with IE i get ''
This page can't be displayed

•Make sure the web address http://www.google.com is correct.
•Look for the page with your search engine.
•Refresh the page in a few minutes.
''

and with google chrome i get
''

The server at facebook.com can't be found, because the DNS lookup failed. DNS is the network service that translates a website's name to its Internet address. This error is most often caused by having no connection to the Internet or a misconfigured network. It can also be caused by an unresponsive DNS server or a firewall preventing Google Chrome from accessing the network.
Check your DNS settings
Contact your network administrator if you're not sure what this means.
Try disabling network prediction
Go to the Chrome menu > Settings > Show advanced settings... and deselect "Predict network actions to improve page load performance." If this does not resolve the issue, we recommend selecting this option again for improved performance.
Allow Chrome to access the network in your firewall or antivirus settings.
If it is already listed as a program allowed to access the network, try removing it from the list and adding it again.
Error code: DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_BAD_CONFIG

i wouldnt be able to plug into mains, but i could use a network powerline adapter thing

Well honestly the main test is a NON-wireless connection, powerline adapters are notoriously unreliable especially if your here in the U.S. (we use A/C over in Europe they use D/C for inside homes) and causes all sorts of unreliable results.

At this point your stuck in options, because they all rely on access the Internet and installing / updating the OS in some manner. My main first steps would be normally (with the wired connection)

Did you install all Windows Updates? Including OPTIONAL except BING? Check them and repeat till ALL are installed.

Download and run Slim Drivers, install all the latest updates but you don't need to reboot until you do the last update

Download Malwarebytes do a full system scan (AV doesn't pick up alot of malware) - this resolved almost ALL other similiar posts to date as most had Malware the AV didn't pick up.

Remove whatever AV your using and go to www.filehippo.com and download AVIRA, AVG, Comodo or Panda and do a full system scan - this repeatedly has resolved alot of people issue relying on MS Essentials.
Repeat the AV/Malware scans till the system comes up clean.

Since you can't follow those steps at this point your down to two options.
1) Physically move the computer to the same place the router is, just need Keyboard mouse and screen with the PC, Disable the Wireless (you did do that with the powerline right?) then wire in the connection. Does this prove the problem is the PC itself.
2) Wipe HDD with DBAN, and install Windows Clean. With a Clean windows, and my checklist, do you connect correctly now?

There is no 3rd option to just 'make it work' as we dont' know what it is that is changing it, and I asked very specific questions on what software you have installed that may be doing this to your system.

with the powerline adapter i turned off the wireless - still had same problem

i have run a malwarebytes scan and quarenttined everything
i use AVG for my AV, scan also found nothing

as for moving the pc if i get over 2 hours available i may move it, to the router, its just a massive pain
if this doesnt work i suppose i will have to do fresh install, which will be the perfect time to buy an SSD i guess

in terms of software, i have no special software that is irregular,
just stuff like google chrome, Steam, Photoshop, Some games, teamspeak, skype etc.. if i find any weird stuff i will delete

youve been really great help so far, thanks

VERY BAD IDEA, especially as that doesn't "solve" problems just causes more. Just because it doesn't say Windows on it doesn't mean it wasn't a needed application. Bit late now.

Yeah as I suggested that your system was compromised by Malware, and that it took three runs before it was clean. I would do another couple runs using the CUSTOM SCAN feature, and selecting the C D or any other letter drives you have listed and do a complete scan. That and the Windows Update (to patch flaws, security issues, etc.) would be the reason why yoru computer is working now.

Always run a manual scan once a week if you that unfamiliar with these sorts of problems and how they occur. It is the best way to make sure nothing gets 'caught' into your system to cause these issues again.
