Dns not starting

Hello, replace hard drive - re-installed wireless driver - radio works but DNS wont start and connect to internet

computer on, unplug modem power, wait 15 seconds, plug in modem power, wait until modem lights are all flashing, restart computer.
Does the router have a pass-code?
