dns server issue

I'm posting this from my phone since I can't get internet on my comp. For a long time my internet will cut out at random points and I'll get a yellow triangle on my network icon. Troubleshoot will either tell me the dns server isn't responding, or says it verified that I'm still able to access some websites, but I can't access anything other than my router page. I've tried about every guide I've come across and nothing has worked. I've done all the cmd dns flush/resets you can imagine, changed my dns to 8.8.8.8 and 208.67.222.222. Reseting everything helps every once and a while but most of the time the connection just comes back on at random. I'm assuming it is a problem on my isp's end because I called them about it and they said I probably had a faulty router. Bought a new one and the problem is still there. Even if I just plug in directly to my modem I still can't connect so I know it isn't the knew router either. I game heavily so this problem really drives me insane since it always goes down in the middle of a game. Any tips?

try reboting your router, then set the dns server in windows to automatically detect

I was thinking it could be the modem too. It's my isps so I'll have to take it to them and have them check. I don't think it's my network card because I went over to my dad's a few months ago and didn't have any trouble on his net for 10 days straight.
