Do gpu's come preinstalled with thermal paste? Thinking about building a pc for a first time, realized buying prebuilts are a waste of money.

GPU's do. CPU's usually have it applied on the heat sinks - if the come with one.

All graphics cards come pre-installed with thermal paste.
All stock cpu coolers come with pre-applied thermal paste, there are even some aftermarket coolers such as Corsairs AIO coolers that come with pre-applied paste.

And to add to that 99% of aftermarket coolers come with thermal paste, that you may have to apply yourself.

The reason the sell thermal paste seperately is because what they give you for free with your cooler preapplied or not is never as good as the stuff you can buy separately, but the difference is usually only a few C or F, like 1-7.
