Do I build a new gaming rig, or buy a good monitor, keyboard and mouse?

Hi guys,

So basically I have a nice bit of money to spend this christmas but I'm not sure exactly what I want to buy. I have a half decent gaming PC that I built myself over two years ago, and I was originally thinking of building a new one. Something similiar to this -> https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/yMXYM8

My CURRENT build is as follows:
1) i5 4690k Cpu
2) MSI GTX 970 Gpu
3) MSI PC MATE Mobo
4) 8GB RAM
5) Samsung 850 Evo 500GB SSD x2

My current PC has no problem running any games, and to be honest I probably don't even need to upgrade at the moment. Do you think I should hold onto it for another 6 months to a year before upgrading? If so, would I be better off buying a nice monitor and keyboard/mouse for christmas instead? (The Monitor I have is 24inch, cost around 150 euro and is pretty standard. My mouse and keyboard came in a cheap combo)

If you have any reccomendations for either the pc build I was thinking of, or any good monitors and mouse/keyboard I would love to hear from you.

Solution
To be honest 144 are nice but there are a lot of 100hz monitors with better pictures and features available for a decent price and past 100hz unless you are hyper competitive gamer you probably wont see the huge jump or any really like from 60 to 100.

Interesting idea, would getting a 144Hz monitor be viable for my setup? And how about resolution, standard 1080p or maybe even 1440p? :) Not sure if my rig would manage.

The moment you go bigger than 23 inch 1440p or up is a must to not be seeing the pixels.
144hz is only worth it if you are a highly competitive fps player and usually most people don't notice the difference between 75hz and 144hz. With 75 hz you can get some really nice ips or good color displays in general which I prefer over having colors that are of but a higher refresh rate.
