Question Do I have a bad system and should consider upgrading it?

Hi,

So i've had bad fps while playing Fortnite for quite a while now, especially in public matches. I would have thought that this would have been down to the parts in my system not being up to date etc, so i've listed my parts below to check if that is the problem, which my initial thoughts would have been yes!

Specs: (copy and pasted from Speccy)

CPU: AMD FX-6300
MOBO: MSI 970 GAMING (MS-7693)
RAM: HyperX 16.0GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 933MHz HyperX 16GB (4x4) @ 1866MHz
PSU: Corsair CS650M
Storage:
232GB Samsung SSD 840 EVO 250GB (SATA (SSD)) 39 °C
931GB Western Digital WDC WD10EZRX-00L4HB0 (SATA ) 32 °C
447GB Crucial CT480BX500SSD1 (SATA (SSD)) 35°C
GPU: 2047MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB (MSI) 59 °C

I've been thinking to upgrade my CPU, Motherboard and RAM for a while now and was also wondering that with my current system, would this be ideal for me?
Ryzen 5 3600
AsRock X570 Phanton Gaming 4
Corsair Vengeance LPX16GB DDR4 3200MHz

Yeah as you already figured out, the cpu is a bit behind for 1080p gaming nowadays. Although it "should" still be able to play fortnite at medium 60fps?

The build you proposed looks good, you could spare some money by going for a decent B450 mobo. But I can't recommend the 3600 enough. 3200 MHz ram is also a good choice.

I looked at the B450 motherboards before and didn't want to go through having to update the bios etc and I also thought the X570 would be good for future proof if i wanted to ever upgrade to a higher cpu in the ryzen range such as the 3800x etc!!

There are B450's that run 3800X, 3900X just fine...and several variants that offer the ability to flash the BIOS to current versions with no CPU installed.

But if you want X570, enjoy....(I don't consider the PCI-e 4.0 really much of a player yet)
