Hey guys, I have a question. For as long as i can remember, i havd had a crashing problem. I get BSOD Saying memory_management, DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_EQUAL, and games like counterstrike global offensive and gta 5 stop responding, and crash. Is this a sign of bad ram? I've tried memtest before and it says my ram is fine, but maybe that is wrong? My temps are fine, so im guessing something is wrong with my ram. I have 2x4GB Corsair Vengeance. Should i buy new 8gigs of ram for like 50$ and see if it fixes my problem?

What antivirus are you using? It's not likely to be a RAM issue. The most common culprit for this issue is a driver called sptd.sys, which is notorious for crashing the OS.

If you have something like McAfee, I would replace it with Malwarebytes and Windows Defender, and use Revo Uninstaller to get rid of any CD mounting programs like Daemon Tools or Alcohol 120%.

Don't have any antivirus installed. I thought memory_management BSOD is for something wrong with the RAM?

If ram is the issue, what else is causing my problems?

Nope, it's most likely a driver crashing or a memory leak - which is a software error, not a hardware one.

Have you installed any programs recently, OR plugged any flash drives / cameras / phones / controllers ect into your computer that you haven't previously used?

I've had this problem for a while, i have not been able to find a fix for it. What is to explain for the game crashes then? The same issue?

Hmm. I only really play steam games. When i play a game like rocket league, it crashes, but very rarely. Way less than when playing gta 5/ counterstrike. It does bluescreen when not gaming, but not a lot. I cant really think of what im doing on my computer when it crashes while not gaming.

There are so many things to try. Do you recommend anywhere to start? Or just start at the beginning?
