i have recently purchased 2 Corsair Vengeance 4GB 1600Mhz RAMs. I have a history of RAM problems and i am worried wether should i enable XMP or not. Now that I haven't enabled XMP it has clocked my memory limited to 1333Mhz. Can i play high end hardware demanding games if i dont enable XMP?

Solution
it won't cause any issues though you will lose some performance. If it were me I would manually set my rams speed, timings. But it is up to you. Modern games are getting more sensitive to ram speed then in the past so you could lose some FPS in games like fall out 4, racing titles, etc.
You can enable XMP or you can set your speed and timings yourself in bios. Personally I prefer setting everything up by myself but it is a question of preference and comfort. What motherboard and CPU are you running? Depending on the game the faster ram can help or make very little difference. Racing games like faster ram as does some newer titles like fallout 4 but many older titles really don't care about ram speeds.

hey thank you for replying! i use a Intel i5 4440S 2.8Ghz and a Asus H81M-CS motherboard. My motherboard does supports XMP. so what i mean to ask is if i dont enable XMP will it cause any problems? like without XMP enabled my RAM is clocked at 1333mhz and can i play games on that? or will cause any BSODs because its not running at 1600mhz

hey so just like you said i opened BIOS.. i did find that the timings were set at 9-9-9-24 but i couldnt find the option to check the DRAM voltage which is supposed to be 1.5V.
should i just change the 1333mhz to 1600mhz?

thank you brother may god bless you.
