Do I have to call my internet provider and pay to add internet service to a used verizon fios router that I bought from eBay or will a coax cable do the trick?

What service do you have now?
Cable or Verizon FiOS?
What equipment do you already have?

Just having a Verizon router does nothing special, unless you also have Verizon service to your house.
Which specific Verizon router did you buy?
What are you actually trying to do?

The router that I have is the Verizon FiOS G1100. It's connected to a coax cable, it gives fios 5g and regular fios internet options as well as FIOS-GUEST when you want to connect to it. The one I bought is the Verizon Actiontec MI424WR Rev I which says it is fios on the modem. I bought it because the router I already have can barely reach my bedroom. I purchased a fast PCI-E wifi adapter and tweaked the advanced settings on both the adapter and the router but i'm still getting weak signals on regular and 5G connections. I plan to use ethernet on the router I bought but the problem is my dad pays almost $100 a month for all verizon services like for television and I think it's $10 or more for just internet service and nothing else. I even bought a wifi extension and it works well for mobile but not on PC. I made sure I understood what the extension was for but ebay lied and it was good for mobile. This is my last option.

Also my SSID is has FIOS in all caps and that is the default name. I even checked on the IP address website that allow you to access router settings. I'm using Fios.

OK.

1. You do apparently have FiOS service.

2. The G1100 is a much better router than the ActionTec MI424WR.

3. You're trying to use this Actiontec as a WiFi access point?
You don't need to cal Verizon.
You did not need a FiOS specific router for this. Any router would have worked.
You don't connect it via coax, but rather an ethernet line from the main G1100.

Read this for how to turn a router into an Access Point:

Does the actiontec router need service to be able to make an access point because the link you sent isn't helping.

No, the ActionTec does not need anything special from Verizon.
You'll be dumbing down the router to be just an access point.

Then again, that specific Verizon capable router may not work for this use case.

Where exactly does the steps in that link fail?

The part when you're supposed to disable DHCP and change LAN IP.
