Do I have to Slow of internet?

So I just did a speed test on my computer and this is the result I got.

with my new pc build, I got this card

Now my old PC was a prebuilt with built in wireless so i figured it was that low because of that, but now with my new card and computer i ran the test expecting more, and it is about the same.

So is it because of my router? or my provider? or do you really only get this speed even though the cards give you this amazing number?

my router is a netgrear n600.

That 42.55/5.77 is what you get from your ISP...from the outside world.

Your router and WiFi card with those 'amazing numbers' is just between you and the router.

What is the speed you pay your ISP for?
