I noticed that is not mentioned in the installation of the new graphics card

It is always a good idea to uninstall the old drivers before putting the new hardware into your system.

As Petrossa has said, the best thing to do is completely uninstall the old drivers before installing the new drivers. You can use Drive Sweeper to make sure you get rid of everything. http://www.guru3d.com/content-page/guru3d-driver-sweeper.html
