my motherboard is a b450m pro4(bios version p3.60) and I currently have a Ryzen 3 2200g and I will be upgrading to a Ryzen 7 3700x(on the ASRock CPU support list it says that the 3700x is validated since bios p3.30 does that mean I don't need to update the bios?)

Solution
I would update to the latest BIOS anyway due to improved memory support, updated CPU code, USB compatibility fixes, and other items more recent BIOS updates have addressed. P3.60 is a very old BIOS at this point.

Yes, no update neccessary.

But you should load BIOS default settings. Then reenter all changes, which you perhaps did manually. Best would be a clear CMOS before loading BIOS default settings.

For clearing CMOS, please take a look into the manual. It is described quite well there.
