This is my rig
AMD A10 7850K 3.7GHz Quad Core CPU
Coolermaster Hyper TX3 Tower Cooler
Gigabyte GA-F2A78M-HD2 Motherboard
8GB DDR3 Ram
AMD Radeon R7 CPU Graphics
Corsair CX500M PSU

Would I need to buy a graphics card to be able to run games like black ops 3 and Gta v or would the built in graphics be able to handle it?

Would I need such a high ranged card I think my mobo supports dual graphics to share between intergrated graphics and a graphics card couldnt I just buy a cheap graphics card

Solution
The inbuilt graphics will be able to play them games, but not very well.

Something like a GTX 950/960, or if you can wait for the RX 480 will be a huge improvement in performance over your integrated graphics.
"Would I need to buy a graphics card to be able to run games like black ops 3 and Gta v?" YES
"or would the built in graphics be able to handle it?" NO
"I think my mobo supports dual graphics to share between intergrated graphics and a graphics card" NO. It doesn't work that way- it's one or the other.

So you have 8 GB of RAM and an aftermarket cooler, and you still have to ask if you need a GPU to play GTA V? Are you trolling??

I think he is taking about the hybrid dual graphics where the on die R7 is in a crossfire config with a Dgpu (must be certain models that have the same gpu type as the Igpu). While possible it is a bad idea and performance is not that great. Always better to get a faster single Gpu than two slower ones in crossfire or sli.

AMD A10-7850K has already a GPU or to be more precise an iGPU. The iGPU is weak but it is there and enough to do basic things.
You can add a dedicated GPU to your rig, as long as your PSU is enough.

If you are buying an AMD card from certain types, yes, you can XFire it with the iGPU but since the iGPU is weak, I would not bother to try.
Multi GPU setups have it's own potential issues and not supported by all games, some can not do SLI/XFire.

I would prefer to get a powerful dedicated GPU and disable the iGPU from BIOS. Just do not forget to unplug the graphic cable from the motherboard and plug it into the dedicated GPU.

Hello!

Some of these people don't understand the APU that you have.

First, is your RAM high speed RAM like 2133 or 2400? Higher speeds on RAM for your APU will boost your graphics performance.

Also you can do dual graphics. I have the same APU doing dual graphics with an R7 250. You have to have a card in this series for the dual graphics to work. Even with the dual graphics though GTA5 still is not optimized, playable, but not excellent.

I would recommend, if you would like to play newer titles like the ones mentioned, a cheaper graphics card like the GTX 950 with very good price to performance.

Hope that helps!

The faster your RAM is, the faster your iGPU will run until it hits it's max. R7 250 is not exactly fast, no matter how fast your RAM is, a simple dedicated GPU like GTX750Ti or R9 380 or GTX950 will crush it easily. There is no point in investing much for faster RAM. Forget the idea of boosting th iGPU performance via faster RAM!

As I mentioned, you can run XFire of the iGPU r7 250 with certain AMD cards...again...why would you XFire weak card? XFire has it's own perks and not all game can run on XFire. Again, this is stupid. It is better simply to disable the iGPU in BIOS and buy a good dedicated GPU.

Exactly. No matter how fast the RAM is, the IGPU will still be miles slower than even a entry level gaming card like the 750 ti.

This is the stupidest thing I've ever read in my entire life

OP just get a GPU. You wont regret it. Either get an entry level GPU or wait and spend your money wisely

You should purchase a dedicated graphics card, the best one you can afford - to help future proof your system.

You do not need faster RAM.

Your PSU is not very good, it is a low tier product like the ones used by almost all OEMs, such as DELL. You should invest in a better power supply to keep your computer running for years, especially if you start adding components, such as a video card. If you purchase an Upper low end video card such as the GTX 950 you might be okay. Any higher power card, such as upper middle range R9 380 by AMD, I would replace the power supply. You want a high quality power supply that will keep your computer running happily for years.

I built the last computer [this one] for myself over 4 years ago. I installed an R9 290 the day they were released for sale, in fact within one hour of release. My CPU is an Intel i5 3570K running at 4.0GHz to 4.4GHz if extra power is needed. My computer now has an MSI GTX 980 Ti Lightning. My power supply is a high quality unit from Seasonic. I expect my computer to last several more years.

[I have been in the computer business starting in 1986. These days I simply repair, upgrade, and build computers for myself, family and friends. So, I have been at it for 30 years, even if I am considered retired.

Quality matters.
