#1. You cannot upgrade the graphics in a budget / mainstream laptop.
#2. Only specific gaming laptop models will allow you to upgrade the graphics. These laptops generally cost $1,400+. A gaming laptop that costs $2,000 doesn't necessarily mean you can upgrade the graphics in the future.
#3. See #1 and #2.

Both AMD and Intel sells CPUs (AMD calls 'em APUs) with integrated graphic cores. Intel's graphics cores has come a long way since the era of the GMA 4500HD graphic core, however, many of AMD's graphic cores are a bit more powerful than what Intel has to offer. If you prefer to stay away from AMD for whatever reason, then you are basically looking at Intel's HD 4400 graphics core or perhaps the Intel HD 4600.

Unfortunately, you...

Unfortunately, you have missed several good Black Friday deals, but with Cyber Monday coming all hope is not lost. The Intel HD 4400 is pretty decent as long as you do not have high expectations. My Dell Latitude 3540 has an i5-4200u CPU and the integrated Intel HD 4400 and it also has the Radeon HD 8850m. I do not play many games anymore, but I have tested the Intel HD 4400 in Star Trek Online and Mass Effect 3. Both games are pretty forgiving and they run well enough to be playable at 1366x768 resolution.

Click below link for some videos of games played on the Surface Pro 2 which has the i5-4200u and the Intel HD 4400 graphics core.

Not sure how this youtuber records his videos. He might be using software which means he is using the Surface Pro 2 to play and record at the same time. If so then actual performance will be higher when not recording.

The following youtuber uses a Hauppauge HD PVR Rocket to record video which means the Surface Pro 2 and 3 are only being used to play games. You are seeing the actual performance. Note there are Surface Pro 2 and Surface Pro 3 videos. The Surface Pro 3 has a Core M 5Y70 CPU which has the more powerful Intel HD 5300 so ignore those videos.
