I bought Samsung 980 pro and Samsung 970 evo for my new pc, the thing is i didn't know that i would need a heatsink (i think my motherboard have one, msi gaming plus b550). I only use my pc to play, not many hours, maybe 2 or 3, maximum 4 but it's very rare. If a heatsink is necessary for this kind of use, which ones would you recommend me?

Any noted heat/temperature problems?

If not then just leave things alone.

AKA "If it ain't broke, then don't fix it".

Just keep an eye on temperatures when gaming.
I still have to build my pc and tested it, i was just asking because a friend told me i should buy one.

Btw where is the second m.2 ssd slot located in the msi gaming plus?

As above.

SSD slots are designated M2_1 and M2_2

And I will reverse my thoughts regarding the heatsink.

If the heatsink came with the motherboard and the Motherboard's User Guide/Manual includes instruction installations then I would install the heatsink.

Per @Lafong - Page 17 and also Page 18 as physically numbered on the pages.

Versus installing just because someone said to buy and install the heatsink.

Do the entire installation very carefully and be sure to use a properly sized screwdriver so you do not strip out the screw heads. Or worst, the stand-offs or mounting holes.

I recommend that you carefully thread all of the screws in and out a couple of times before doing the full assembly.

Do not force the screws. They should go in and out fairly easily to begin with. But even easier after a couple of runs in and out.

Much better than having things jam up with heatsink etc. all in place.
