Do I need a passive or active adapter for the second monitor?
I just bought a second monitor Acer H6 (H236HL) a 1080p monitor @ 60 hz. My current GPU is Gigabyte HD 7950 and it has a DVI, HDMI, and two mini Display Ports. For some reason the HDMI port does not work even on a single monitor (I have checked the HDMI cable with another device to ensure it's working) and I am now considering buying a mini DP to HDMI adapter to see if the mini DP ports work. It's a passive 1080p @60 hz adapter for 5 bucks. My question is do I need an active adapter for the second display or will a passive one work just fine?
