Do I need a PCIe 5.0 slot for an RTX 4090?

I have an AMD gaming motherboard with an PCIe 4.0 x16 slot.

Will this bottleneck an RTX 4090?

No, you don't need. There won't be any serious issue or any loss in performance, since PCI-E is backwards compatible.

As far as I can recall correctly, the RTX 4090 supports the PCIe Gen 4.0 interface.

once reviews can go live, then and only then will we know anything about performance or what specific configurations will or won't do.

None of 40-series cards supports PCIe 5.0, 4.0 is max. No need to wait reviews to see how it performs on PCIe 5.0 board.
