I don't have a soundcard in my computer and I can't manage to get my mic working, is this because I need a soundcard or is it some other problem?

Solution
If there is a Mic and Headphone input in your motherboard then you dont need one.
But if you have and its not working then this must be a driver problem, go to realtek's download page and download the driver that suits your computer's specs.
32-bit or 64-bit.
Windows or linux or mac.
Hopefully this helps

The mic is either plugged into the wrong port
(Change the port)

OR you are missing a driver
(go to Start Button >Control Panel >Device Manager and look look under the Sound, Video and Game controller tab for a yellow traingle with a black exclamation point ! If there is a yellow triangle you probably need to update the driver - right click and choose the update driver option)

OR your sound card for the ports is disabled.
(go to start and type sound and click the sound icon and look for a disabled device in the list.
