Question Do I need a Surface USB-C to Displayport adapter?

Hi All,

At work we have a Surface Pro 7 that we want to connect to a second display.

I know I need a USB-C to Display-port/HDMI adapter to run the monitor but is there any difference between getting the $65 adapter from Microsoft

Getting a $27 USB-C to display-port cable from Amazon

Would rather not get one just to find out it doesn't work as it should.

The one that works is probably that $65 piece from Microsoft. I doubt it will bankrupt the company, once you've paid $xxx for the Surface.
