Question do i need a third part antivirus

i have a question do i need to have a third part antivirus like bitdefender free antivirus if i have windows defender on my windows 10 pc bc i have some ram issue and i guess it's bc i have a third part antivirus so i wonder if i only need windows defender on my windows pc and not a third part antivirus too

Just some info for what it's worth....I use only Windows Defender and I keep it updated (on three Pcs)....and so far (years) I haven't had any issues I know of.

No, you only need one antivirus, but you could consider using MVPS Host File Blocking and Malwarebytes, which both work differently.

Just Windows Defender is sufficient. It is not a good idea to run two antivirus programs at the same time. What RAM issue do you have that you would make you think this?

Malwarebytes (free version) works differently so it compliments Windows Defender.

No, they each have a different primary purpose -- don't think of one as backing up the other.

i will say if the windows defender can find it but not remove it then i can use malwarebytes to remove it thats what i mean but will it do so my ram get used less if i have malwarebytes then a third part antivirus with real time protection

If you find any virus that cannot be removed, then read up on it at bleepingcomputer, as they have information on many specific viruses.

Windows 10 is the first time I haven't run a 3rd party anti-virus. Windows Defendrr seems to be doing a goid job, and it runs lean (ie: not eating your RAM). I run MalwareBytes (free) occassionally to keep an eye on things..malware and viruses are not the same.

Defender wouldn't have been running anyway if you have Bitdefender installed, so removing it may not fix the ram problem.

BD free must use more ram than the paid as I don't have usages that high. I don't know where I will end up answering questions here so I prefer safe than sorry. Windows Defender isn't perfect but its better than nothing.

how much ram do you have? looks like 8gb? usage isn't that high really, about average.
