Do I need an upgrade or not?

Basically I'm getting into some image and video editing but I'm not sure if my current PC can handle it?

Current Rig:
AMD Athlon 64 x2 4200
5GB DDR2
500GB Storage
AMD HD 5450
1680x1050p monitor (I don't think this needs to go, had it for a few years and its a beauty even though not full hd)
Ideas?

If it's deemed obsolete I am willing to drop around $500 on this but if you could include gaming parts as I'm into that too, $800 is my ceiling.
I already have a windows 7 key, asked Microsoft to transfer/reset :)

What is your motherboard's make and model number.

Really full system specifications would be useful.

If you need to upgrade or not all comes down to, is your rig good enough for you? From the looks if it and your future needs, it doesn't seem so, so an upgrade would be good.

The magic of an AM2+ board means you can upgrade all the way up to a 1100T :) :
