Question Do I need new motherboard or CPU

Okay so I bought a new mother board and case, installed everything, powered my psu on, all the lights on the mother board came on then when I hit the power button everything flashed on for 1 second then poof everything died. I cut power to the psu and re connected power and now just the motherboard rgb stays on but the power button doesn’t tun the computer on? I did the screw driver method on the front panel headers and it still didn’t turn on. What happened and what do I need to buy

You need to start swapping parts with know good components. Otherwise you just have to guess.
