[SOLVED] Do i need to plug in 8pin and 4 pin for cpu connector

i got an msi x470 gaming pro max but my psu only got an 8pin and the mobo needs an 8pin and 4pin. should i just connect the 8pin and forget about the 4pin

What's the model name of your psu?

You can get additional 4pin cpu power connector with appropriate adapter. Better option would be getting appropriate PSU with all the connections necessary.
