[SOLVED] Do i need to reapply thermal paste while transferring a new CPU?

I have a new R3 2200g but it's not working with ASUS A320M-K(due to BIOS issues) I wanted to transfer the CPU to a new motherboard(MSI A320M PRO MAX), do I really need to reapply the thermal paste?

If whatever CPU cooler you're putting on it has been used more than a couple of hours, yes.
Clean thoroughly and reapply.
