Do I need to reformat after a failed clone?

I attempted to clone my failing hard drive to an identical hard drive and it seemed to work somewhat until it tried to copy the bad sectors. It appears that I'm going to need to clean install windows onto my new drive. My question is, do I need to reformat the drive to clear up any errors the cloning may have added or can I try to install windows right away?

Just reformat it to be safe. It only takes a few more seconds in the disk options.
