Do I need to remove graphics card drivers before removing the actual graphics card?

In my last thread I was talking about my issues with my card not working, well I contacted gigabyte support and i'm sending it out for an RMA. I'm going to remove the graphics card but first, should I remove the driver? Could someone possibly give me a step-by-step quick guide to removing it? Should I take the power cables that connect it to my PSU as well? Or should I leave those hanging out in the case and connected? I'm sorry for all the questions, I'm a big noob and I built an expensive build and i'm just afraid of ruining something...

No technically, but you won't want to have say 980 drivers for a 970. Actually removing the card is easy, turn off, unplug, unscrew the pcie bracket screw, press the pcie tab down(http://m.imgur.com/ceW7Xza?r) pull out, boom.

Thank you, Potato. Yeah I'm still getting the same model card, G1 Gaming 980 Ti, Either a new physical card or the same card just fixed. Whatever Gigabyte decides is best I guess..

As in updating them like normal? I'm on 361.75, I heard some issues from some of the "older" newer drivers i'm not sure if their newest drivers are fine, 364.72 or something like that

My advice, uninstall them, then put your new card in, then install new drivers for the new card, technically it's fine to have multiple old drivers, and the new one will override them, but I don't like having old drivers sitting there, basically, you can do whatever you want if it's the same card.

Both NVidia's and AMD's drivers have been unified (multiple adapter support) for quite some time. There's no real need to remove/reinstall drivers when changing video cards, as long as the new card is one supported by the currently installed driver. Plug 'n Play will set the new card up just fine.
