do i need to run samsung performance restoration tool?

So I just bought new Samsung 840 evo ssd and installing it with windows 8.1 64bit, so do I need to run Samsung performance restoration tool? or I just run it when it starting to feel slow?

Unless you sense performance drops, you can just use the SSD. Running the tool isn't a compulsion.

Make sure to run Samsung Magician, and upgrade to the latest version (3.4) which dramatically improves the Rapid mode

oh, if I running it now will it prevent future performance drops? and will it harm my ssd?
since I read that this tool process time depends on how much data you have, and lesser I have the faster the process (which is now my ssd is only containing operating system files)

No, running it will decrease the current performance drops (if any). You currently don't need to run it.

I would go with the old 'if it aint broke, don't fix it' maxim - surely still the most sensible approach to PC maintenance.

Your SSD is new - it will run fine, probably for a long time. I would suggest only running the Performance Restoration Tool if and when you sense your drive isn't running as smooth and speedy as you're used to
